As part of RGM's efforts to assist local communities in the fight against COVID-19, a project has been initiated to create a Community COVID Field Squad (CCFS) together with the traditional authority of Brownsweg and Primary Health Care Suriname.

Rosebel Community Fund (RCF), has made donations totaling US$250,000 to various institutions in the past week, including the Paramaribo Academic Hospital (AZP), which received medical equipment and devices worth US$113,000.

On April 22, 2020, Rosebel Gold Mines (“RGM”) signed an Unincorporated Joint Venture (“UJV”) Agreement (“Agreement”) with Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname NV (“Staatsolie”), relating to the concession areas within the UJV Area of Interest (which includes Saramacca).

On February 21st students of the "Masters of Science Program in Mineral Geosciences" participated in a special guest lecture given by IAMGOLD CEO, Stephen Letwin. This guest lecture entitled "Leadership and Value Creation", held at the IGSR building was also attended by other students from ADEK's Geosciences program. The "Masters of Science Program in Mineral Geosciences", which consists of 2 cohorts, has been fully sponsored by IAMGOLD/Rosebel Gold Mines ("Rosebel").
