On Monday, December 9th, Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. ("Rosebel"), carried out the annual Christmas project, one of our Corporate Social Responsibility projects. As in previous years, there was special attention for social organizations that provide health care to children, senior citizens, and people with disabilities. This year, 19 organizations from different districts were appreciated with a donation.

Sharmila Jadnanansing, who encouraged those present on behalf of Rosebel, said the following: “As a mining company, we recognize and value hard work. It is good to reflect each year on the many outstanding workers who are dedicated to being caregivers in our society. Every day, they give their strength by doing important, challenging work. We particularly remember those who are committed to caring for children, seniors, and persons with special needs. They are the light within their organization and they deserve a warm thank you."

Rosebel continues to invest in the well-being and development of our host communities. By 2019, the company has returned more than US Dollars 450,000 in the form of sustainable projects in Brokopondo with an emphasis on supporting children and education. For 2018 and 2019, Rosebel has opted to support adequate healthcare. We concluded this with the donation of a Steris Amisco Century V120 steam sterilizer to St. Vincent's Hospital and 2 patient monitors for the children's ward of the Diakonessenhuis.
